Swami Vivekananda (born January 12, 1863 - died July 4, 1900) was a famous and influential spiritual guru of Vedanta. His real name was Narendra Nath Dutt. He spoke on behalf of India at the 'World Religion Mahasabha' held in Chicago, America in 1893. Represented Sanatan Dharma. India's Vedanta philosophy, full of spirituality, reached every country in America and Europe due to the oratory of Swami Vivekananda. He established the Ramakrishna Mission which is still functioning today. He was Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He was an able disciple of. He was given 2 minutes but he is mainly known for starting his speech with 'My American sisters and brothers.' This first sentence of his address won everyone's heart. Born in an aristocratic Bengali Kayastha family of Calcutta, Vivekananda was interested in spirituality. He was greatly influenced by his guru Ramakrishna Dev, from whom he learned that God himself exists in all living beings. After the death of Ramakrishna, Vivekananda wrote extensively. But traveled to the Indian subcontinent and gained first-hand knowledge of the then conditions in British India. In India, Vivekananda is known as a 'patriotic saint' and his birthday is celebrated as 'National Youth Day'.
