As the book deals with two aspects of the teaching of Geography, namely, methodology and content, it will be useful both to the teachers of Geography in schools as well as to B.Ed. students of universities. Care has been taken to include the various units of the B.Ed. syllabus followed in many of the universities in India. O P Varma (1920-2007) was a noted authority on the subject of Geography. He was Head of the Department fo Geography and Education in training colleges at Lahore for some years. His career was shaping up very well when he was forced to start life anew as a taxman after partition in 1947. During this period he kept his interest in Geography alive and wrote two textbooks on the subject. He had the distinction of reading a paper at the International Geographical Congress held at Montreal in 1972. He also presented a paper at the Tokyo Congress held in 1980. His papers have also been published in the International Geographical Congress Publications. He was a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, London.
